brian conway
Brian is a PRINCE2 Project Manager focused on increasing the value of legacy systems through optimisation and modernisation. He is currently working with Agile approaches, deriving methodology from the Lean Manufacturing principles he used at Nissan.
Brian was a graduate trainee with British Steel and then freelanced at ICI. His other engagements include Nissan’s Material Requirements Planning system; a challenging project integrating MRP with Just-In-Time production built using rapid application development techniques. At British Rail, he led a project to examine a vendor solution to the Y2K problem and produced an alternative, more cost-effective, proposal. He was then responsible for implementing his solution. This was a two year project remediating over two million lines of code completed within budget and timescale, just in time for the government to split up and sell off the business.
In 2000 Brian joined Strategic Systems Solutions. After working with a major investment banking client he led a new team, assisting innovative service-oriented architecture project. This extended the client’s mainframe-based supply chain pipeline into sales showrooms via web screens. This linked dealers, distribution networks and plants throughout Europe.
